With the loss of UFC 130's main event between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard, the night's lineup has been shuffled a bit, and Spike TV has now announced the two fights for the event's hour-long "Prelims Live" broadcast on the network.

The welterweight fight between Thiago Alves and Rick Story that was initially targeted for the Spike TV broadcast has now been moved to the pay-per-view portion of the card, and in it's place a middleweight bout between Tim Boetsch and Kendall Grove will air on Spike.

The bantamweight fight between Miguel Torres and Demetrious Johnson will remain on the Spike broadcast, which comes live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 28. The night's pay-per-view card is now headlined by the light heavyweight fight between Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Matt Hamill.

Though it has been expected for quite some time, the UFC has officially confirmed that the UFC 134 main event will be a bout between Anderson Silva and Yushin Okami for the UFC Middleweight Championship.

The bout headlines the UFC's first return to the country of Brazil since 1998's Ultimate Brazil event, and the event will take place from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro on August 27.

The UFC has thus far made six fights official for the card, with Forrest Griffin vs. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua coming as the nights main event and Edson Barboza vs. Ross Pearson, Luiz Cane vs. Stanislav Nedkov, Maiquel Falcao vs. Tom Lawlor, Spencer Fisher vs. Thiago Tavares official for the card as well.

Silva and Okami will meet in a rematch of a fight in a Rumble on the Rock welterweight tournament over five years ago, a fight Okami won by disqualification when Silva hit him with a vicious upkick while Okami was in his guard.

Silva has gone on to win 14 straight fights since that bout, including all 13 of his fights inside the Octagon. Okami has gone 12-3 since their last meeting, with a 10-2 mark inside the Octagon. His losses in that time all came by decision to top fighters in Jake Shields, Rich Franklin and Chael Sonnen.

?Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum? Fight Card Updated

Between Fedor Emelianenko’s abrupt quarterfinals exit, the UFC’s purchase of Strikeforce and the excessively long gap between opening round matchups, it’s tough to say anything in MMA has lost as much momentum as Strikeforce’s Heavyweight Grand Prix. Regardless, “Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum” still goes down June 18th inside American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Alistair [...]

Cain Velasquez: Brock Lesnar Will Be Back; Shane Carwin Right Choice by UFC

CREST HILL, Ill. - The MMA world got a little jolt on Thursday when the UFC and Brock Lesnar announced the heavyweight's diverticulitis had returned and he was back on the shelf.

Count UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez in with that group. He was waiting in the wings with a careful eye on the planned main event at UFC 131 in June between Lesnar, the former champ, and Junior dos Santos, since that winner would get the next shot at Velasquez.

When the news broke, Velasquez had to shift gears and start thinking about Shane Carwin and dos Santos, even though a fight with either of them is likely at least five months away. Carwin will step in for Lesnar to face dos Santos, currently coaching opposite Lesnar on Season 13 of "The Ultimate Fighter." But after conducting a seminar at Clay Guida's MMA Stop Fitness in Crest Hill, Ill., on Friday, Velasquez told MMA Fighting he believes Lesnar will make another comeback from the digestive disorder - and will be better than ever.

"It sucks, but it happens in this sport," Velasquez said. "People get hurt all the time and pull out of fights. But he'll come back, and he'll come back stronger. It sucks right now, but we already have somebody tough coming up with Shane (replacing him)."
